Günter Krings is a member of the German Bundestag, where he is the legal policy spokesman for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group. Previously, he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community, where his responsibilities included public safety. He regularly publishes on these and related public law issues in specialist legal publications and is a member of the editorial advisory board of the Zeitschrift für das Gesamte Sicherheitsrecht. He is also a member of the advisory board of the Zukunftsforum Öffentliche Sicherheit. Since 2024, Günter Krings has also been contributing his knowledge and skills as a member of the Intelligence Research Center at the Cologne Faculty of Law, to which he has been closely associated for many years as an Honorary Professor at the Institute for Constitutional Law (Prof. Dr. Stephan Rixen).
