Library

The Institute of Public and Administrative Law maintains a scientific library on public law with a focus on administrative law, especially for university members. The collection of approximately 40,000 publications also includes books of historical quality.

In view of constructional restrictions in the Institute's alternate premises (Bernhard-Feilchenfeld-Str. 9 in Cologne-Zollstock), the usual services cannot be offered. Study places can be found especially at the Central University Library and the Central Law Library (Hauptseminar) as well as at the "alternate location" in Cologne-Zollstock especially in the shared library of the neighboring House of International Law (Sibille-Hartmann-Str. 2-8). You can have alternative access to our library according to the following rules:

• Members of the University of Cologne (students, doctoral candidates, employees) have the possibility to request digitized excerpts of publications to a reasonable extent (few pages). Please contact the Secretariat from your university email address with an exact description. The processing time may vary depending on the volume of requests and the Institute's workload.

• Academic employees of the University of Cologne (without SHK) can temporarily borrow a large part of the books available at the Institute to take them to their own office workstations. The lending of journals is not possible. Please inform yourself about this in advance from your university email address in the Secretariat.

Please note that literature requests will be read and processed after the office hours of the Secretariat only on Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m..
